It's Official: Halo 3 has four player, online co-op

This just in from http://joystiq.com/:

Speaking at a Microsoft press conference in Amsterdam earlier today, Bungie has confirmed, once and for all, that Halo 3 will feature two to four player online co-operative play over Xbox Live. This news comes after months of rumors and slip-ups, but is extremely appreciated nonetheless.Details are extremely sparse at the moment (chugging a Mountain Dew while snowboarding with a live bear extreme) but we can tell you this: we have Bungie's word. Bungie will be issuing an update themselves on this matter over at their website later today, so be patient and we'll have further information for you as soon as it rolls in.

Xbox 360 the #1 searched console on the net

According to web tracking company Hitwise, the Xbox 360 has overtaken the Wii as the most searched console on the web (for the first time since the 360s launch). At first we assumed the number increase was do to hardware problems we've seen from the 360. But when analyzing the top Xbox 360 searches (as in this top ten chart above), we don't really see searches regarding the topic. What this will mean for Microsoft keeping its lead over Nintendo is yet to be seen.

Viva Piñata coming to Nintendo DS

OK let me start off by saying that we don't normally post on other systems as you have heard Rod smack say on the zune cast many times this is an Xbox only zone. But RARE is owned by Microsoft witch owns Xbox witch is where the first viva game can be played so in the famous words of Korn "its all in the family" lol
Now that i justified myself here's what joystiq has to say about it ..
During a Viva Piñata panel at Comic-Con, Rare announced a Nintendo DS
version of their well-received Xbox 360 title, Viva Piñata. A Rare developer answered some basic questions on the PinataIsland.info forum, quelling fears that the title would not be developed by Rare – he said, "Very definitely 'yes' on this one. We have a dedicated handheld dev team." – and that the gameplay would be different – he said, "Game play wise, yes. It's the same game ... ." Still no word on whether or not the game will take advantage of the DS' Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. While it's not a huge surprise – Shane Kim intimated as much to 1UP – it's curious to see Microsoft publishing a title on a competitor's platform. If they can get the Pokemon crowd hooked on Viva Piñata via the enormously popular DS, then we're betting some of those kids just may grow up to be 360 owners.

LEGO Indiana Jones game announced

News out of Comic Con 07 that we will be getting an LEGO Indiana Jones game in 2008. here's the full press release.

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - July 27, 2007 - LucasArts and TT Games today announced that LEGO® Indiana Jones®: The Videogame [working title] will whip onto game consoles everywhere in summer 2008. Developed by the same team at Traveller's Tales that created the LEGO Star Wars™ series, LEGO Indiana Jones presents a tongue-in-cheek take on the first three cinematic adventures of pop culture's most iconic archaeologist, including Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

"LucasArts and TT Games are setting the bar for next-generation family entertainment with the LEGO Star Wars franchise, and our incredible relationship continues with LEGO Indiana Jones," said Jim Ward, president of LucasArts. "In addition to providing the quality bonding time inspired by any good family game, LEGO Indiana Jones delivers something a little different for everyone. Parents will enjoy the humorous take on some of their favorite movies, and their kids get some rousing action/adventure gameplay that may also introduce them to Indy's original adventures for the first time."

"It has been a real joy to work with LucasArts on the LEGO Star Wars games. Indiana Jones is the perfect character for the next LEGO-based videogame adventure," said Tom Stone, director at TT Games. "Indy also presents us with wonderful and memorable cinematic moments. The boulder scene of Raiders of the Lost Ark in LEGO is hilarious!"

Lucasfilm Ltd. recently announced that the LEGO Group will begin releasing LEGO Indiana Jones playsets in January 2008. Meanwhile, LucasArts remains hard at work on its revolutionary, internally developed Indiana Jones videogame, which takes place a year after The Last Crusade in an original story overseen by George Lucas.
